8 Profitable "Pandemic-Created" Business Ideas for 2021
welcome to the new reality where
businesses are working online where
old-fashioned brick-and-mortar stores
are closing because people don't go
outside they just stay home
welcome to a new reality and today i
wanted to make a video that i think a
lot of people were expecting
i wanted to give you some ideas of small
businesses that you can start in a
couple of weeks
i know a lot of people who are very
pessimistic these days you know
the world has changed it would never be
the same you know my company
went from being a study abroad booking
platform sending people to study abroad
it's now pivoted to online tuition and
eighty percent of our revenue
is now coming from online services and
yes i'm a little sad
that we had to pivot and that our team
had to change
but at the same time i see a lot of
opportunity in this new world
and i wanted to share some ideas that i
would have started myself if i had
passion for them remember
before starting any business ask
yourself would you
like this business's problems because
it's really easy to imagine yourself
when the business is growing and you
have all of the dollars coming to you
but ask yourself what if things don't go
as smoothly as i expect
at the beginning would i still be happy
to solve this business's problems
and if your answer is yes then start and
try
and give this business a go idea number
one deep cleaning services
in march when the lockdown just started
happening
uh in san francisco i started seeing a
lot of ads we're gonna deep clean your
apartment
so a lot of people wanted to make sure
their apartment sanitized maybe they had
guests staying with them maybe they just
want this extra layer
of cleanliness in their place and i know
a lot of friends who actually use their
services
a lot of cities introduce rules where
you have to deep clean your business
before
letting people in there are additional
measures of sanitizing
everything that you see around yourself
especially if you're working with people
so this could be both a bit of sea
business and a bit of b
business by b2c i mean you going to
people's apartments people's houses
by the way a lot of people have started
using their rooms that they have never
used before
because they need additional space for
their offices or for their kids to study
from home
and then you can be a bit of b service
where you partner with other companies
who need recurring services
from a deep cleaning company and then
you can have this recurring revenue and
by the way having recurring revenue
is the best when you have someone who
pays you on a monthly basis
that means you spend time not in
acquiring new customers but on actually
perfecting your service
business idea number two i.t and cyber
security consulting
this is something that i started to
personally think about
when i realized that you know everything
is online now
i can't really hide things in an
apartment because i
just travel all around you know we have
all of these bank accounts we have a lot
of customer data we have all of those
things
that could be hacked and even if i think
of a regular person
who just has all the passwords how do
you protect this
how do you make sure nobody accesses
your bank accounts and i've heard
horrible stories of people you know
there was this guy from malay who was
trying to raise money and he met someone
from russia who asked him
to go to thailand and for a fundraising
meeting
and they kidnapped that person and stole
everything from his bank accounts
and after that story i was like how do i
protect
everything that belongs to me and i'm
pretty sure you guys when you started
doing everything online you were like
how do i protect everything and being a
specialist
who knows how to protect passwords how
to protect access to banks
how to add this different layers of
security
this is something that's really in high
demand these days
especially by people who had to go from
offline
to online where they don't know any apps
that they can use where they're like
how do i store my passwords so this is a
great opportunity for you guys
if you want to make this kind of a
freelance job
and list your services on a website but
make sure you have a lot of reviews and
make sure you get a little word of mouth
because you know you won't just trust a
person who you found on craigslist
you would really want a recommendation
if you guys are wondering marina but
there are so many
ideas out there how do i know which
one's trending right now this video is
brought to you by a company called the
hustle
and they have this ultimate knowledge
cup called trends the thing is when i've
heard about it i was like this is a
genius idea they have a lot of things
that they talk about in trends but
they would send you different graphs of
keywords that are trending so what are
people looking for
and you will be able to see what's in
demand right now and in this way you
will be able to think oh maybe i should
pivot my business this way or maybe that
way so basically this is a community for
entrepreneurs founders investors
and people who are interested where our
world is going with trends you get
access to a community of leaders in
every field
and you're going to learn how to
capitalize on emerging opportunities
right now you can get a two-week trial
for just one dollar
go to trends.com silicon valley girl to
redeem this offer so trans.co is your
place to network

industry leaders
and to learn because they have weekly

seo for a company how to send called
emails this is something
that i think is really important for
every entrepreneur trans.co has
exclusive research with intriguing
topics to help inspire
like the 30 companies defining the
future of media and pop culture so if
you are
looking for an idea if you want to know
what's going on in the world
trans.co silicon valley girl you get two
weeks access for
just one dollar the link is below the
next idea
driving movie theaters oh my god who'd
have known right
i see some parking lots being converted
to drive-in movie theaters because
we missed this experience we missed
being in a crowd
watching a new movie eating popcorn
driving movie theaters were really
popular in america
if you are by any chance running a
parking lot or
maybe you know someone who has a free
parking lot and doesn't know what to do
because parking lots downtown san
francisco i remember the rates were like
15 per 10 minutes now they're all
empty and the downtown is really empty
why not start
a movie theater there why not have
people come there
and enjoy movies all together the next
idea
filmmaking slash studio design
consulting services
let me tell you what i'm talking about a
lot of my
non-video friends started reaching out
to me at the beginning of pandemic and
they were like
marina what's the best sound to purchase
what's the best mic
what's the best camera how do i make my
background blurry
how do i create a studio that's really
really good looking
because everything is now through zoom
and people raise money through zoom
they pitch their products through zoom
they present themselves
and they really want to look good you
don't want to use your old-fashioned
camera anymore because
you know i'm jumping on calls with
people and i'm like
oh my god are you a professional
filmmaker these days because everything
looks
amazing and i know a lot of people in
silicon valley they bought professional
light
they bought professional cameras
connected them to their laptops and you
know some of them spend
thousands of dollars on that and i know
it can be done cheaper
some of them spend days researching
different products i would love to have
a person who would come to me
or i will take a picture of my room and
he would say okay
you need to replace your background with
this you know buy this tool
buy this decoration buy this light put
it here put this camera here
and i want to look amazing and i know a
lot of people who would be
grateful for such services so if you
guys know how to set everything up
if you know how to decorate studios you
know how to set up lighting and what are
the best
cameras to use for video conferencing
that this opportunity is for you again
as always you can list your services on
a freelance platform
you can serve some of the first clients
for free just for your view or maybe for
a commendation
and then you start building your kind of
small personal brand you know instagram
page
maybe make some videos on youtube and
then you start growing and then you
start receiving orders
the next idea is virtual personal
training and i know a lot of gyms are
opening up
my previous building just announced that
they're opening the gym
and people need to sign up to use it but
anyways
i don't want to go back because i still
think that if you are
in a room with a lot of people and
somebody doesn't know that he's sick
and because you're breathing heavily
there is a
higher chance of getting infected so i'm
like and because i have a family because
i have a kid i'm like
okay i'll just train at home and this is
what i'm doing i purchased an online
course from a familiar blogger who i
really like she looks amazing
and i just use that course to exercise
at home
but ideally i would love to have someone
train me
using my camera because that just
creates more responsibility
because some days i'm like too tired to
exercise whatever i would just cancel my
training because it's a recorded video
anyways
but if i had someone who would coach me
online that would be an amazing
opportunity and i think i will start
doing that
next month once i have more free time so
if you've been
training people offline if you were
working at a gym i think this is time
for you to convert your services to
online and you can do one-to-one
coaching or you could do
group classes through zoom the next idea
is your old
boring web design and you'll be like
marina
but this has been a trend a decade ago
basically what's happening these days a
lot of people
who were used to offline who said you
know i'm gonna stick to offline i'm not
gonna go online
they are forced to go online and i know
a lot of people who don't know how to
use
tilde and vx and i know these are all
pretty simple web services but still
you need to have some taste you need to
know how things work in order to build a
website and again if you have experience
in that if you can create banners
if you can run ads start reaching out to
people
start offering your services because
this is something that people need
they might not be actively looking for
your services right now
but if you come to them at the right
time and the right time is now
and tell them you know for this price i
would be able to
bring your services from offline to
online and you will start selling online
you know i will enable consultation
scheduling for you
i will tell you how calenly works i'm
going to tell you how zoom works
like basically this whole web design
slash conversion of an offline business
to an online business
is a great opportunity these days if
you're looking for platforms to find
customers i can highly recommend
fiverr.com
freelance.com if you're into design
there is a great platform 99 designs
that i used as a customer myself there's
craigslist there is
thumbtack there are so many platforms
out there i recommend just creating a
portfolio and uploading it everywhere
and then doing some work for free to get
some reviews the next idea is called a
ghost kitchen you need to check your
local regulations but basically
in some states you can start preparing
meals in your kitchen
and delivering them around the block
because what's happening these days is
people spend a lot of time at home a lot
of kids are staying at home
so moms are busy both controlling kids
whether they're doing their homework
and listening to their zoom classes then
they have to
make their work done they have to make
sure the house is clean and then they
have to cook so a lot of people
who used to go to restaurants who used
to rely on lunches and dinners provided
by their company for example on campus
they need to cook at home and they don't
want to do that just like me
so they start ordering from restaurants
and a lot of restaurants are converting
to ghost kitchens because they don't
need to serve
inside they just need to have a small
space to prepare
those meals and if you like cooking if
you
check your local regulations and they
allow this you can start a ghost kitchen
in your home and the last but not the
least mask
making and i know a lot of people are
already
making masks but you know creating a
stylish mask and i think we're still
gonna need them for at least a year and
a half
i don't see this going away too fast and
a lot of countries have mandatory masks
everywhere
and there is a cool case of a company
called taki it's a seattle-based company
so basically it was a gift wrapping
business but when this whole thing
started
they used all of their raw material that
they had for wrapping gifts like all the
cloth that they had they started
producing masks
and they sold over 20 000 masks by this
day and they have seen
an incredibly high demand in mask making
additionally there are
20 000 new mass making shops on etsy
thank you guys.
